TOTALLY AWESOME GRACE

TO SHOW GOD'S LOVE FROM AN "EVERY DAY" POINT OF VIEW

JULY-AUGUST, 2010

ANGELA REEVES, A Woman of Compassion. .

"It takes someone special to be a nurse," is the saying, but most children don't hear that expression, so it must have been on Angie's heart since the beginning of time, because that was all she ever wanted to be was a nurse. Marriage and motherhood (and now, grandmother-hood) must have been on her list of things to do and be, because she has experienced all of those things, too. But when the kids are gone and the grandchildren are gone, and when Jim is doing his own thing, Angie, the nurse, the woman of compassion, is still there.

Making sure everyone is comfortable and has everything they need is first and foremost in Angie's list of things to get done. When things are not going as planned for someone else, Angie is the first one to try to find out what needs to be done to either (1) make it happen; or (2) make it better. Her heart is bigger than prescribed for most people, and as such, her compassion overflows.

Angie grew up as a pastor's daughter (A chaplain in the Army, even), and her husband is a "second career" pastor who is currently in Kuwait for a year's stint of service. While Jim may be gone for this time, Angie still has three daughters (one is Katrina Sheely, one of "ours"!), and each of those daughters has children with one on the way in October.

It would seem that all is well with the world, but as we all know, things happen that cause pain and sadness, and Angie has seen her share of sorrow. She is still dealing with the unexpected loss of her son, Daniel. As with her heart so full of compassion for others, so deeply does it hurt for her with a pain that will not go away easily. We can only pray that God will work His healing in her heart and give her joy "in the morning," as He has promised.
