GIFTS
This month's theme centers around gifts and giving, although not quite in the way you might expect. It's more along the lines of God's gifts to us, what do we do with them. how do we give back, and why.
What is the best present you ever got? Did you get it as a child, a teenager, a young adult, or much later in life? What was special about it? Was it the size, the price, the importance, or the thought behind the giving? As you've gotten older, have your thoughts about receiving gifts changed from that as a child? Do you understand the saying, "it's more blessed to give than to receive?" Or do you still prefer to be on the receiving end?
And finally, what is your reaction when you get something unexpectedly? Do you find you appreciate those gifts more that you know you didn't deserve, or do you feel you deserve much more than you get? And on the other side of the coin, have you ever felt the urge to give something of great value to someone else, knowing it was just what they needed, but their reaction was totally unexpected? How did you feel about that?
